ROTA’s EMPOWER Youth Conference is known internationally as a forum where youth (aged 15-24 years old) can benefit from experiential learning and cross-cultural exchange of ideas.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
EMPOWER 2021 aims to build awareness, knowledge and skills related to global citizenship and mobilise youth as agents of positive change to take action in their communities by:
- Developing an appreciation for the role that culture, heritage and the arts play in promoting sustainable development for future generations.
- Discovering a sense of belonging to a common humanity, shared values & responsibilities, empathy, solidarity & respect for cultural heritage & cultural diversity.
- Developing greater awareness and understanding of global citizenship, youth leadership, and their potential to address key global issues.
- Developing the attitudes, values and behaviours needed to be agents of positive change in their lives and in their immediate and larger communities.
